Overview:

The primary purpose of this position will be to join and assist the HETL Quality Assurance Team with maintaining global quality systems, and appropriate and sufficient associated records.  The position will assist with ensuring the lab is meeting all required accreditation standards for various accrediting and credentialing boards.  The position will participate in both external and internal audits, and other duties as assigned.

 

Duties and Deliverables:

Specific duties required of the resource, as well as any expected deliverables, including necessary travel expectations.

  • Develop, coordinate, review, and approve Standard Operating Procedures for laboratory, field, and data management operations.
  • Implement, administer, and coordinate laboratory certification programs to ensure compliance with State and Federal laboratory regulations
  • Continually review, modify, edit, and improve laboratory quality assurance policies
  • Continually review, modify, edit, and improve experimental design of environmental studies to ensure proper and correct measurement of environmental laboratory data
  • Develop and implement quality assurances audit program to document laboratory quality assurance and quality control program efficacy
  • Supervise and/or conduct on-site evaluations of laboratory as recommended and/or required by State and Federal regulations to ensure laboratory meets established quality standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure plenary quality operations and processes

 

Schedule:

Summary of work schedule, including normal working hours, on-call expectations, allowed time off (which is non-billable), ability to work remote.

 

This job is scheduled for 40 hours per week.  Normal working hours are between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday-Friday.  All work must be performed onsite at the Augusta, ME location, with remote work being authorized at the discretion of the CDC HETL Chief of Laboratory Operations

Knowledge, Skills & Certifications:

Specific qualifications needed to perform the job including, necessary licenses, knowledge, skills, education, experience, training, and technical skills.

 

  • Four-year combination of education, training, and/or experience in Quality Assurance, Chemistry or a directly related field.
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards such as ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
