a. Assist the supervisor and staff in the Bureau of Specialized Service for Children (BSSC) within the Office of Health Insurance Programs (OHIP), Division of Program Development and Management (DPDM) in a broad range of administrative, enrollment, and organizational activities.

b. Become knowledgeable and gain general understanding of the Health Home Serving Children (HHSC) program and Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Children’s Waiver.

c. Use eMedNY, Capacity Management, Service Tracker and the Medicaid Analytics Performance Portal Health Home Tracking system (MAPP HHTS) to research member and provider information and facilitate member enrollments and discharges.

d. Assist with system enhancements by providing program knowledge and understanding for the, Capacity Management, Service Tracker, and MAPP HHTS; and conduct user acceptance testing (UAT).

e. Provide support with Bureau initiatives to improve efficiency of operations and streamline processes. Establish administrative procedures; develop and maintain tracking systems for various work streams; develop, implement, and maintain electronic filing systems, and TEAMS sites.

f. Review, organize, and facilitate updates to the DOH website, ensuring that posted materials are current and easy to navigate.

g. Assist with personnel management tasks including, recruitment and onboarding, etc., and other routine administrative duties including monitoring shared mailboxes, scheduling meetings, preparing meeting materials, and providing backup support for the main telephone line, as needed.

h. Assist with implementing program projects and initiatives that address identified needs within the Children’s Services design.

i. Collaborate and work with staff, contractors, and state partners on projects regarding various program aspects of Children Services of the Health Homes and HCBS program as well as State Plan Services.

j. Other activities as may be deemed necessary in response to the changing needs of OHIP.

 

 

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ experience in the healthcare field
  • An associate degree can count as 2 years of experience, a bachelor’s degree can count as 4 years of experience, and a master’s degree can count as 5 years of experience

Summary:

The candidate must possess a professional approach to all aspects of their work; have excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills; and be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders regarding services for children with special needs. The candidate must be comfortable using management information system; have proficiency with standard office technology (such as Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, TEAMS, etc.); be self-motivated; work independently and collaboratively with co-workers in a fast-paced environment; and prioritize and handle multiple assignments. Preferred candidates will have experience in a healthcare field, preferably Medicaid and Medicaid services.
